Aaron's World of Army Life
We were asked not to post about Aaorn's deployment to Afghanistan on facebook but since this is my blog and I actually do not know the location of where Aaron is I don't think I am breaking any ARMY rules.
Aaron is with the traveling Calvary scouts and right now they are in a little place that they all call "hell" ummm I bet there are lots of places like that. He doesn't have any phone access and very little Internet but we do here from him in email here and there. :-) He seems to be doing o.k. he still asks about his car LOL that we haven't moved since he left still parked underneath the carport.
Ang is finally getting out and about we were so worried about her when Aaron left Germany she kinda just camped out next to the phone and computer well with Aaron's reassurance that things were o.k. she and the girls are finally going out and making friends - she needs a support system.
Ang told me a funny story about Bay - Bay was really acting out and Ang finally got to the bottom of it; Bay wanted to go to jail so she could be with her daddy she thought her daddy was in jail not off fighting (Aaron must of said this is like being in jail LOL). Bay told Jessa dada will be home when he is finished saving the world. :-)
Nikki told me that when Aaron first left Lizzie was so sad and she told her mom not to let any of the bad guys shoot her daddy.
Do you think any of us really understand what our freedom is and how much it affects our soldiers, wives and their children? I am sure we don't but I thank each and every solider -wife - and child who sacrifice their time for Me...
Sure miss each of you!!

Mary was born September 16, 1942 in The Dalles Oregon to George R. Grossmiller and Kay Nelson Bailey.
Mary moved to Golden Valley, AZ in 2003 where she loved the Arizona sunshine along with the gorgeous sunrise & sunsets. Mary loved life and went thru it at full speed. Mary loved to cook, play Bingo, she was a stranger to no one and her genuine love for those in need taught the rest of us to truly love one another and to look for ways to serve those in need. Mary was a friend to many people in this beautiful community and will be missed by all.
One of Mary's favorite past times was with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, she was the "holiday chef" and we always looked forward to what recipes she would bring up for us to try.
Survivors include husband Bob Baker, 3 children Wendy (Jamie) Hull of Ridgefield, WA; Lisa (Craig) Freyou and ElizaBeth (Steve) Miller both of Holbrook AZ; 11 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. June 5th, 2010 Indianwells Garden
We put the plants and seeds in the soil today!
It was a great day and of course we had a super breakfast of biscuits, gravy with fruit salad and orange juice. Hmmm do you think all our activities are centered around food? Well if you do then your exactly right (gotta get us on Weight Watchers before its too late ahhhhh)
O.k. we planted tomatoes, corn, squash, cucumbers, carrots and green chili's - it was a fun time.
Then we came home and pulled our weeds, worked on our garden and I have just one question I wish WHO EVER WAS PUTTING MIRACLE GROW ON OUR WEEDS would stop, ha ha ha sometimes I just crack myself up...
Well off to read scriptures I hope all is well with each of you...
Indianwells Shearing Sheep Fern Ray
We were lucky enough to go spend the day with Fern, Howard and their family on shearing day. Its really fascinating watching this process first they roped the sheep then dragged them over to the "shearing area" this is where the work began.
They were fast and hardly nicked the sheep and the sheep just pretty much stayed in place while all that wool was manually sheared off them.
Now we did 4-H with are kids and Steve always sheared the sheep with electric shearers and the electric shears just would not be able to handle this job. These sheep were thick with wool so Steve grabbed the manual shearers and went to work. Howard was just amazed that Steve was as fast as the others with those big ol huge scissors.
Sister Hugo and I we were the leg holders and ear pullers I think we did quite well LOL.... Brother Hugo was the scissor (shears) sharpener (probably the hardest job) Well towards the end of the day I and brother Hugo were given the opportunity to also shear. I don't know who was happier me, Elder Hugo or them giggling at us...
I was also given a personal rope lesson with Howard and the dummy (no not me)..
Fern fed us an amazing meal at the end of the day - I just love this family and the Hugos..
Had a wonderful week in Cortez Co June 1st - 4th
Hi, had an amazing wonderful time in Cortez with Jessica and her boys - I enjoyed watching James play baseball he played two games while I was there. In his first game on Tuesday - June 1st he played outfield and man on man he is quick footed. Wednesday he pitched, played first, and then was the catcher until a ball snagged him in the arm pit.
We had lots of fun and went on this amazing little hike that ends up in the trees. Latter Jesse decided to give Moroni & Sadie a mud bath I don't think the dogs really minded and Jesse had a blast. J.J. and I played Super Mario brothers that little stinker knows all the tricks oh his smile just makes you happy!!
Sure miss them (you too Jessica :-))
