Kingman Visit

Kingman Arizona here we come – We are excited to meet Great Grandpa (Bob Baker my dad). We headed out on Wednesday and stopped at the Deer Farm located right off I-40 a couple of miles before Williams. Oh my as soon as we walked in thru the first gate I should have known we were in over our heads – one of those cute little deer’s escaped yep escaped at least he only made it thru the first set of gates. Well after lots of coaxing we got the bugger back in with the rest of his friends. Then the fun started these cute big brown eyed demons know who has cups of food and who doesn’t they come a running and a few times I couldn’t even see Elizabeth she was engulfed with deer. J Once I persuaded Lizzie out from the deer (she named everyone of them) we went and saw a camel, buffalo, miniature horses, miniature cows, monkeys, birds, then into the goat pens we went… Here again Lizzie named each one and she of course had her favorites. We just had so much fun. We finally arrived at grandpa by ummm 7:00 p.m. grandpa was fast asleep on the couch I think he thought we were gonna stay the night with the goats J

The first night Lizzie settled in and pretty much stayed right by myside and let me tell you I was just in Heaven… Oh how I love my grandkids… Well Lizzie finally let grandpa play ball with her and then they were pals but she still wanted to go home to my husband’s house ha ha ha I would ask her you mean to grandpa Steve Miller’s and she would say yes to your husband’s house – she is just so funny.

Well after a few days we headed home but first we had some sightseeing to do; our first stop was called Beararizona this was a private owned sanctuary for bears but we drove thru several gated areas that had buffalo, sheep, burrows and when we reached the bear area we had to keep all of our windows rolled up for security but these bears were not interested in us in the least bitJ. We parked at the junior animal section and watched a couple of baby cub’s play and wolves pups. Here we watched one of the black bear cub climb down a tree and the brown cub had to be rescued from the cement barrier.

Our next stop was the Grand Canyon this is one of my favorite places to visit I am just in awe over the magnitude and beauty; Lizzie said Grammie how do we get to the river? Well at least I have a couple of pictures of her so someday she can say I’ve been there. LOL Lizzie did want to climb down the canyon (crazy girl) but I calmly told her we don’t have on the right shoes to go climbing and she was o.k. with that whew…

Well we headed home the scenic route from the Grand Canyon we ended up behind the San Francisco Peaks wow it was a beautiful drive when we hit about 8000 elevation Lizzie saw these “white trees” ( ) and agreed to have her picture taken next to one of um. We spent some time picking flowers, and well you’ll have to ask Lizzie what she got to do OUTSIDE (potty).
